Sophia is a senior print/online journalism student pursuing a minors in history and gender, sexuality and women’s studies. Over the summer she interned at ABC7-WJLA in the sports department. She enjoys writing about current events and sports and hopes to one day be a sports reporter on the sidelines of game seven of the NBA Finals or in the press box at the World Series.

Desiree is a senior studying graphic design. She worked at the VCU School of Engineering Marketing and Communications department as a designer before joining SMC Creative at the end of her sophomore year. She enjoys making things, shopping for produce, and staring at plants in admiration.

SaraRose is a senior digital journalism student pursuing a minor in political science. When she isn’t at the Commonwealth Times, she’s writing for Richmond magazine as an Editorial Intern or taking a bath. She likes to go cool places and write down the cool things people say. She loves Richmond, but you’ll find her walking around a bigger city one day.
Georgia is a sophomore double majoring in print/online journalism and Spanish with a certificate in Spanish/English Translation and Interpretation. She’s an editorial intern at Richmond Magazine and hopes to one day work as a foreign correspondent in Latin America. In the little free time she has, Georgia enjoys reading and admiring her perfect eyebrows.
Zach is a junior pursuing a dual degree in print journalism and English. A proud Norfolk-ian, he enjoys long walks on the beach, English literature of the romantic period and anything pertaining to Harry Potter or baseball. Zach is an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan who can usually be found working at the Student Media Center or running along the James.
Katie is a junior pursuing a major in journalism and a minor in political science. She enjoys writing about current events, especially regarding anything that’s happening in Richmond. She hopes to someday write for a major publication in a big city. When she’s not writing you can find her at a local Richmond show or trying out a new recipe she found on Facebook.
Iain McLennan Duffus a Junior in the Communication Arts department, diligently hustling for a BFA with a focus on Editorial Illustration and book cover design. He illustrates for RVAMag, was published in Poictesme last semester and continues meticulously adding mundane portfolio pieces to his website: www.iainduffus.com
Erin is a junior photo/film student pursing a minor in media studies. She has been photographing for the CT since her freshman year. When Erin is not behind the camera you can find her joined by the hip to her best friend and fellow CT photographer Casey and probably arguing with her about one thing or another.

Dina Alemu is a senior strategic and creative advertising major with a minor of general business. She also works with SMCs Ink Magazine as the Junior Fashion Editor, her dream would be to work in New York City with a magazine and a sleepless lifestyle. You can find her planning fashion editorials or sleeping the day away.

After submitting as a contributing writer for a year, Sam became The Commonwealth Time’s resident film critic. He now spends most of his time watching or writing about movies. When he’s not doing that, he’s watching other people talk about movies. Somewhere in between, Sam goes to his classes on his journey towards earning an English degree. Sam is always willing to talk about any nerdy subject, be it the importance of horror films on pop culture, or why YouTube is the future of media, for better or worse.
Eric Ngo is currently a senior working towards a BFA in Graphic Design. He has worked freelance and maintains an interest in one day teaching design on a university level. When he is not working he can often be found face-timing his cat Aloe.
Ryan Rich is a junior in the graphic design program at VCUarts. He enjoys publication design, and has previously created graphic material for the VCU Honors College. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing guitar, and cartooning.
Kim is a junior in the graphic design department, with a minor in craft and material studies. She is the junior representative on VCU’s AIGA board and a member of MoB studio (a non-profit design center). Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Kim is now happy to call Richmond home. Her outside interests include camping, caving and contemplating adopting a cat.
